Xavier awakened in a place unfamiliar to him. He gasped when he discovered that he was surrounded by darkness. Only on the spot he was on, there was a spotlight shining down.
''Rise, Xavier'' a voice said to him.
The voice was familiar, but he did not know who's it was. It just felt like he had heard it before.
He pushed himself from the ground, and onto his feet. He was afraid to stay there, but he was too afraid of the darkness as wel.
''Who are you?'' he asked out loud.
''I am the one who listened to your plead for purpose, I am the one who gave you life, I am your creator'' the voice answered. Tough it sounded crazy, something inside him said it was the truth.
''Where am I then?'' he asked, and glanced nervously at the shadows.
''You are nowhere and somewhere. Here, I deside are you worthy to keep'' the voice answered. He froze at the spot.
''I... I don't understand'' he said.
''What can you tell about yourself?'' the voice asked.
''Myself?'' he repeated confused.
''The person you are''
''I... I am Xavier... and...'' he started, but stopped almost immidietly. He couldn't remember anything else. It was like he had lost his identity.
''You do not know'' the voice said.
''But, I am suppoced to know myself, shouldn't I?''
''Yes, and no. I am your creator, and I deside who you are. But I can only give you apart of yourself, and you have to create your own path''
''Then... how can I find myself?'' he asked. The voice turned silent, and the shadows seemed more restless.
At that moment, he slammed onto the ground with full force. He felt a terrible pain inside him, making his body tremble.
''You will have to go throught obstacles, do what's right or wrong, repeat history. Before you can trully find yourself, you will have to suffer'' the voice echoed.
''W-Why?'' he asked between his teeth. His eyes felt like they were on fire, and he could not see anymore.
''Because there is no other choise''
The pain grew stronger, and he let out a final scream.
Suddenly, it stopped. He lied there lifeless and unmoving. His red hair turned black and dull. Black liquid streamed down his cheek under his mask.
Footsteps echoed closer to him, and the shadows shifted. Someone appeared into the light, and walked calmly to him.
''How do you feel, Xavier?''
A low laughter came from him, and he smiled. He pushed his head of the ground, leaving his mask behind.
''Better then ever''
